F A Q

How long does the hair last?

I recommend getting your wefts moved up every 6-8 weeks (8-10 weeks if you do hte platform method) Quality & longevity of the hair will vary based on how well you take care of it, but typically the hair will last you between 8-10 months before you will need a new set. I strongly advise you to use the shampoos, conditioners, leave-in treatments, and brush that I recommend to guarentee the integrety of the hair. Please note: If you have extensions in during the summer months, sunscreen can turn your extensions orange/pink & it is nearly impossible to get out which will result in needing to purchase a new set of extensions so please be careful.

How long does it take to apply SWK extensions?

SKW is definitely a lengthy appointment, especially for initial application. During your appointment we will color your extensions and/or your hair to perfectly match, install them, cut/blend them, style you, & PICTURE TIME! Yay! Please expect to spend between 4-6 hours with me that day. SKW extensions are not something to rush. 6-8 weeks out [MOVE UP DAY] doesn't take nearly as long. If we are coloring you on move up day, yes, it could take 3+ hours still, but just extension move up takes about 1-2 hours depending on how many rows/levels we do.

What brand of hair do you use?

I typically use: Harper Ellis, SKW Strands, Bellami, or JZ Styles Hair Extensions. Each weft is 100% Human Remy Hair. Meaning the cuticles are intact and all facing the same direction as when it was collected. The biggest thing you need to know about remy hair is, it will not matte, tangle, or shed like non-remy hair.

How much does it cost?

Depending on length of extensions and the amount of rows/levels needed to acheive your deserved look, you can expect to pay between $800-$1500 for initial installation plus cost to color your hair if needed. After initial application, move ups are every 6-8 weeks and can range from $150-$400 depending on the number of rows/levels in your hair.

How long is the hair?

Hair length ranges & will be decided on during the required consultation. Lengths vary from 14, 18, 20, 22, and 24 inches. *As hair length increases, so does the price.

How often do I have to come back?

It is recommend you come back in every 6-8 weeks for a move up (Every 8-10 with the Platform Method). Waiting any longer can cause unwanted and unnecessary irration. To insure you don't wait too long it is required that you book a move up appointment before leaving the salon. (See my cancellation policy)

How do I take care of my extensions?

What is the SKW Platform Method?

This is the most comfortable and seamless method to date. This is an entirely new concept in comparison to current methods. HERE’S WHY: • There are NO ROWS — Which means wefts lay flat to the head so there’s no ridge or ledge. • Wefts are staggered on the platform base. • Limited bead use + they drop way below the top of the base ELIMINATING DISCOMFORT. • Beads and track are hidden. • Client can wear a high ponytail immediately following the install. • Staggered/Layered wefts means less time cutting, blending, and texturizing. • Average re-install is 8-10 weeks. • Less product buildup on the hair since the wefts are less bulky. • The ends of the wefts lay flat against the head so you can enjoy 100% concealment (I.e. no flappy ends)
